CineMaps helps you discover real-world filming locations from movies and navigate to them. We collect as little personal information as possible.
Account information
If you create an account, we store your email address to sign you in and sync saved data. Guest browsing requires no personal information.
User ID
A unique account identifier is stored to sync saved places, photos, reports, and blocks. It is used for app functionality only and is not used for tracking.
Saved data
Favorites, visited locations, and your watchlist are stored on-device only for guests. When signed in, they are also stored securely to sync across devices.
Photos you upload
The image and an optional caption are stored and shown publicly in the in-app gallery.
Location
With permission, precise and—where available—approximate location is used on-device for nearby spots and directions. Location is not stored on our servers.
How we use information
We use information only to provide and improve CineMaps, including showing locations, directions, progress, and community photos.
Sharing and services
We do not sell personal information. We do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites. Account and photo data is hosted on Supabase. Film data comes from TMDB. Maps come from Google Maps; those features are subject to their respective terms.
Your choices
- Browse without an account.
- Delete your account at any time from Profile. This permanently removes your account and associated saved data and gallery photos.
- Revoke camera, photo, and location permissions in your device settings.
